Mick Jones, The Clash Xmas Day, Acklam Hall, London, 1979 andyrosenphotos.com © OriginContent.com Not many people turned up maybe about 50 and mostly friends and family. I was working on the London Calling T-shirt for their upcoming album release tour with 5th Column who printed and designed most of the early punk T shirts . This gig was a warm up for the tour. Bob Gruen opened the show playing a bugle at Notting Hill's 250-capacity Acklam Hall (the old Socialist Community Centre) on Christmas Day, 1979. Mick, Joe and Paul walked not very far to the gig; it was 50p to get in. The Punk scene was at its height and that night we were at the epicenter not that we knew it, if I did I would have taken a lot more pics :) This was the set list: Clash City Rockers Brand New Cadillac Safe European Home Jimmy Jazz Clampdown The Guns of Brixton Train in Vain (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais Koka Kola Keys to Your Heart Get Up Wrong Emboyo Stay Free Bankrobber Janie Jones London's Burning Armigedeon Time Police and Thieves White Riot London Calling #theclash #punk #punkrock #origincontent #fileprotected
