Additional info:

Peter Mark Sinclair "Marc" Almond, OBE (born 9 July 1957) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Almond first began performing and recording in the synthpop/new wave duo Soft Cell. He has also had a diverse career as a solo artist. His collaborations include a duet with Gene Pitney on the 1989 UK number-one single "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart".[1] Almond's career spanning over four decades has enjoyed critical and commercial acclaim, and he has sold over 30 million records worldwide.[2] He spent a month in a coma after a near-fatal motorcycle accident in 2004 and later became a patron of the brain trauma charity Headway.[3]

He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2018 New Year Honours for services to arts and culture.[4]

I was the staff photographer for Record Mirror. I think it was 1980 or early 1981 I got a call to go to Leeds to cover a new artist Marc Almond. I think it was one of Soft Cells early gigs. I remember spending time with him before the gig and after. The gig was brilliant. He was very friendly and fun to hang out with.
